Rift Skill Tree

The skill tree (in the /rift menu) sells permanent upgrades, paid in Tree Marks, that apply every time you enter. Every Rift Mark you earn is credited in full as a Tree Mark and as a Shop Mark, so buying nodes never eats into what you can spend on Rift Caches. There are 24 nodes across 7 branches, plus the Rift Prestige node at the bottom.

The branches

Branch What it does
Speed Quickened Strike I/II then the Riftcharge notable, faster mining (up to +20%).
Points Greed's Grasp I/II/III then Avarice: chances to double a block's points (Avarice also boosts Titan's Hoard payouts).
Enchants Arcane Infusion I/II spawn your pickaxe with extra enchant levels; Exceptional Enchants lets some exceed their cap; Calcite Ascendance ascends maxed enchants to Calcite forms.
Cascade Cascade Surge I and II (each a 12% chance for +1 radius on a Cascading Vein), then Echoing Detonator: Veins never roll their smallest size, and ores get a small chance to trigger a chain.
Bloodline Bloodline Echo I/II then Ancestral Bloodline: your Rift pickaxe spawns with pickaxe-prestige stats and a perk.
Riftborn Set Spawn wearing Riftborn-trimmed armour pieces, up to the Riftwalker Boots notable.
Mobility Iron Gears → Coiled Springs → Wings of the Ancients, the chase node that grants flight inside the Rift.

Unlocking nodes

Each node checks two things when you buy it: its prerequisite is owned, and your Rift Prestige is high enough. There is no player level or player prestige requirement on any node. Tree Marks and your Rift Prestige are the only gates, so the Rift is paced by your daily time budget.

Most nodes open at Rift Prestige 0. The notables that don't are Exceptional Enchants and Echoing Detonator (P2), Avarice and Calcite Ascendance (P3), Ancestral Bloodline (P4), Riftwalker Boots (P5) and Wings of the Ancients (P10).

Node costs also scale up with your current Rift Prestige: cost = base × (1 + 0.5 × prestige). So a node costs 1.5× at Rift Prestige 1, 3.5× at P5, and 6× at P10.

Catch-up discount

If you start the season late, or miss 3 or more rift days in a row, every node gets cheaper: 5% off per rift day you're behind, up to 60% off. The discount shrinks as your tree fills in and your Rift Prestige climbs, so a fresh account gets the full cut and a player who has caught up gets none. Skipping the odd day never counts. The node's cost line shows the discount, and it never applies to Rift Caches.

Version history

v4.0.0 (Map 4)

  • Nodes are now bought with Tree Marks, a balance credited in full alongside your Shop Marks.
  • Cascade Surge I and II now show their real chance: 12% each for +1 radius.

v2.0.0

  • Skill tree base costs were cut in half, so maxing the tree (and entering the prestige loop) is roughly twice as fast.
  • Nodes now carry player-level requirements, and several notables gate behind a higher Rift Prestige (Exceptional Enchants P2, Echoing Detonator P2, Calcite Ascendance P3, Avarice P3, Ancestral Bloodline P4, Riftwalker Boots P5). Wings of the Ancients now requires Rift Prestige X + Level 103.
  • Node costs now scale up each Rift Prestige (×(1 + 0.5 × prestige)): 1.5× at P1, 3.5× at P5, 6× at P10.

v3.0.0

  • Skill tree nodes no longer require a player level. Rift Marks and your Rift Prestige are the only requirements; Wings of the Ancients is now Rift Prestige X alone.
