Rift Points & Shards

You earn points by mining. Once your rift day is over they convert into Rift Marks, paid in full both as Tree Marks (for the skill tree) and as Shop Marks (for caches). See Daily Rift Time for when that happens. You also bank Rift shards as you dig.

Points per ore

Block Points
Stone 1
Coal 2
Iron 3
Gold 4
Lapis 5
Redstone 6
Diamond 7
Emerald 8

Deepslate ores are worth +1 each. Stone broken by Shatter scores 1 point, the same as stone you break by hand. Skill-tree, prestige, and season-pass bonuses (point-doubling chances, point multipliers) stack on top per block.

When your points convert, your raw points get your Rift Prestige bonus, then become Rift Marks and add to your season total. Check both balances with /rift tokens.

Your lifetime total is tracked in /trackers as Rift Points Earned, and it also feeds the Rift Points board in /weeklytop.

Special blocks

The /rift menu's guide lists every special block. Most are more common deeper in the mine.

Block What it does
Titan's Hoard A point bonus worth 25x the best ore at your depth, minimum 100 points. The Avarice node makes it pay 1.25x.
Cascading Vein Instantly mines a cube from 5x5 up to 11x11 (smaller sizes are most common). Special blocks it hits trigger too. Every ore it clears pays its full money value and 20% of the energy it gives when mined, into /rift claim.
Echo Stone Adds 5 minutes to your Momentum enchant timer. Weighted toward the top layers.
Forgemark Raises a random enchant on your Rift pickaxe by 1 level. With Exceptional Enchants it can go past the max.
Starforge Raises every enchant on your Rift pickaxe that is below its max by 1 level at once. Worth the most early in your day, before Forgemarks have levelled you up. Rarer than a Forgemark, found at any depth.
Rift Wisp Releases a wisp that breaks the 10 special blocks nearest to it within 32 blocks, as if you broke them: Veins it breaks still cascade and pay, and Hoards still pay. It never targets another Wisp. Very rare, found at any depth.
Catalyst Geode The rarest block in the Rift, found deep in the mine. It pays nothing itself. Breaking it turns the stone in the 11x11x11 cube around it into special blocks, including Starforges and Rift Wisps. The round clock keeps running while it blooms.

Picking up where you left off

Re-enter the same day and you get back the exact pickaxe you were holding (keeping any in-rift enchant upgrades and its prestige roll), and your points total carries across visits. A fresh pickaxe is only rolled on your first entry of the day.

Shards scale with depth

Rift shards floor at a minimum rarity based on how deep you're mining: the top third floors at Uncommon (no Simple), the middle third at Elite, and the bottom third at Legendary. The deeper you dig, the better your shards. Claim them afterward with /rift claim.

Version history

v4.0.0 (Map 4)

  • New rift blocks: the Catalyst Geode, the Starforge and the Rift Wisp.
  • Every ore a Cascading Vein clears now pays its full money value and 20% of its mining energy into /rift claim.
  • Stone broken by Shatter in the Rift now scores 1 point (it was about 7).
  • Rift Marks are paid into two balances, Tree Marks and Shop Marks, each credited in full.

v2.0.0

  • Rift shards now scale with depth — top floors at Uncommon (no more Simple), middle at Elite, bottom at Legendary.
  • Re-entering the same day resumes your exact pickaxe (keeping its in-rift upgrades and prestige roll) and carries your points across visits.

v3.0.0

  • The Prison Break Points Earned tracker is now called Rift Points Earned. Your recorded total carries over.
