Pets are companions that follow you around and give a bonus while summoned. They drop as rare certificates, earn XP as you mine and fight, and level up to 100. Manage them with /pets.
Getting a pet
Pets drop as sealed pet certificates. Right-click a certificate to open it into a pet item you can keep or trade, then right-click the pet item to add it to your collection. Sealed certificates show the pet's level in their name.
If a drop can't be delivered straight away, it is saved. Use /pets claim to collect anything waiting for you.
| Pet | Type | Bonus | Where it drops |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mole | Mining | Increased mining speed | Mining ore by hand |
| Shade | PvE | Increased PvE damage | Shades and wraiths |
Rarer ores and higher area levels can drop rarer Moles and Shades, and any rarity can turn up as a rare jackpot. Loot luck doesn't add extra pet rolls.
More pets exist. One comes from excavation finds, one from the Erebus Pit and one from an uber boss. Their names and powers are left for you to find.
Rarity
Pets use the same eight rarities as shards: Simple, Uncommon, Elite, Ultimate, Legendary, Godly, Divine and Exceptional. Rarer pets have a bigger bonus, unlock extra abilities, and need more XP to level.
| Rarity | XP to reach level 100 |
|---|---|
| Simple | 250,000 (1x) |
| Uncommon | 287,500 (1.15x) |
| Elite | 325,000 (1.3x) |
| Ultimate | 375,000 (1.5x) |
| Legendary | 437,500 (1.75x) |
| Godly | 500,000 (2x) |
| Divine | 625,000 (2.5x) |
| Exceptional | 750,000 (3x) |
Leveling
Only your summoned pet earns XP, and only from its own kind of activity:
- Mining pets earn 1 XP per block you mine directly. Blocks broken by enchants earn nothing.
- PvE pets earn 8 XP per monster kill, whatever the monster. Bosses give XP to everyone with contributor credit.
A pet's bonus grows with its level. At level 1 it gives 10% of its full bonus, rising evenly to the full amount at level 100.
The Mole and the Shade
Bonus at level 100, by rarity:
| Rarity | Mole mining speed | Shade PvE damage |
|---|---|---|
| Simple | 5% | 5% |
| Uncommon | 8% | 8% |
| Elite | 12% | 12% |
| Ultimate | 17% | 17% |
| Legendary | 23% | 23% |
| Godly | 30% | 30% |
| Divine | 38% | 38% |
| Exceptional | 48% | 48% |
Abilities (values at level 100):
- Mole, Loose Earth (Elite and up): directly mined ores have up to a 25% chance to regenerate instantly.
- Mole, Treasure Nose (Exceptional): directly mined ores have up to a 0.5% chance to uncover a bonus shard.
- Shade, Feast (Elite and up): PvE kills restore up to 2% of your max health. It is off during PvP combat.
- Shade, Hunting Rhythm (Exceptional): PvE kills give up to +4% PvE damage for 8 seconds, stacking up to 5 times.
PvE pet bonuses work against monsters and bosses only, never against players. Pet bonuses switch off during duels.
