XP Bottles & the Daily XP Limit
An XP Bottle holds a set amount of mining XP. Drinking it adds that XP to your level, exactly like XP from mining. The amount is in the bottle's name. How much bottle XP you can drink in a day is limited, and /xplimit shows what you have left.
Where bottles come from
- Clue Scrolls. Every Clue Casket gives an XP Bottle on top of its loot. Higher casket tiers give much bigger bottles.
- The AFK Shop. Bottled XP costs 100 AFK points and gives a bottle sized for your current level.
You can't turn your own levels into bottles. The old /xpextract command was removed in v2.0.0.
Bottles are normal items. You can trade them, sell them on the Auction House and keep them in your personal vault.
Bottle tiers
Every bottle has a tier, and you need that tier's level to drink it. Holding, trading, combining and splitting a bottle have no level requirement.
| Bottle | Name colour | Level to drink | Casket it comes from |
|---|---|---|---|
| Simple | Grey | 10+ | Simple |
| Uncommon | Green | 30+ | Uncommon |
| Elite | Blue | 50+ | Elite |
| Ultimate | Yellow | 70+ | Ultimate |
| Legendary | Gold | 90+ | Legendary |
| Godly | Red | 100+ | Godly, Divine and Exceptional |
Simple scrolls drop from level 1, so a Simple casket opened before level 10 gives you a bottle you have to keep until you reach 10. An AFK Shop bottle gets the tier that matches your level when you buy it.
Drinking a bottle
Hold the bottle and keep right-click held to drink it, like a potion. Once you finish, the XP pours in over 10 seconds, and every level you pass on the way pays its normal level-up rewards.
- You can only drink one bottle at a time.
- If the bottle holds more than you're allowed right now, you drink only the part that fits. The rest stays in the bottle, and its name updates to the new amount.
- Stay on the server until it finishes. If you log out, or warp somewhere that moves you to another server (the Polis, for example), the XP that hadn't poured in yet is lost, and it still counts against your daily limit.
- XP boosters don't multiply bottle XP. The level cap's catch-up bonus does: if
/levelcapshows you a catch-up bonus, your bottles get it too.
Combining and splitting
Bottles don't stack, but you can merge them and split them.
- Combine: pick up a bottle and click it onto another bottle of the same tier. You get one bottle holding both amounts. Bottles of different tiers can't be combined.
/combinemerges all the bottles in your inventory into one bottle per tier. It merges Ancient Energy and Money Notes at the same time. Your personal vault also merges bottles when it tidies itself.- Split: right-click a bottle in your inventory with nothing on your cursor. Half its XP moves into a new bottle on your cursor. You can also hold the bottle and type
/xpbottle split, which is how you split on Bedrock. If your inventory is full, the new bottle goes to your stash. A bottle needs at least 2 XP to split.
The daily XP limit
Mining has no daily XP limit. Bottles do. The allowance depends on your level:
| Your level | Bottle XP you can drink per day |
|---|---|
| Below 100 | 2.5 levels' worth, and bottles never take you past level 100 |
| 100 and up | 1 level's worth |
The allowance is counted from your current level. At level 60 it covers the XP for 60 to 61, 61 to 62, and half of 62 to 63. Prestige makes each level cost more XP, and the allowance grows with it, so it stays at 2.5 levels.
The game tracks the share of your allowance you've used, not a fixed XP number. Drink half of it and half is left. If you then level up by mining, that remaining half is recalculated at your new level, which usually means more XP. This is why the number in /xplimit can go up during the day.
The allowance resets every day at 10 AM Pacific. /xplimit shows a bar of what's left, the XP it's worth and the time until the reset.
At the level cap
Bottles can't take you past your current ceiling. That ceiling is the server's daily level cap or the max level your prestige allows (100 with no prestige, then 101, 102 and 103 at Prestige I, II and III), whichever is lower. At the ceiling, the game refuses the drink and nothing is used up. /xplimit then shows 0 and says you're at the cap.
The level cap rises at 11 AM Pacific, an hour after the allowance resets. If you're sitting at the cap, your new allowance becomes usable once the cap goes up.
Why won't my bottle work?
| Message | What it means |
|---|---|
| You need to be Level X+ to drink this bottle | The bottle's tier needs a higher level. See the tier table above. |
| You've reached your daily XP limit | Today's allowance is used up. The message shows the reset time in your own time zone. |
| You're at your level cap | You're at today's level cap or at your prestige's max level. Nothing was used. |
| You are at max level | Same as above. |
| You are already drinking an XP bottle | Wait for the current bottle to finish pouring. |
| This bottle doesn't have enough XP to split | A bottle needs at least 2 XP to split. |
