The Asphodel Map IV Crate

The ✦ Asphodel Map IV crate is this map's premium seasonal crate, the headline reward chest of Map 4. You buy it from /store under Ancient Crates for 5,000 Obols.

Unlike a regular lootbox, a crate always pays out in full. Every open pays every one of its 14 guaranteed relics plus a guaranteed jackpot roll. There's no "better luck next time" outcome here.

What you're guaranteed

The relic pool is built around real value: booster boxes, orbs, Ancient Energy, boss keys, jewels, a Seasonal Rank Box, a Dust Satchel and more. Every crate also includes one Charon's Lanterns Powerball skin, a Map IV cosmetic. It comes as a tradeable claim item, so spare ones can be sold.

The jackpot

Every open also fires a guaranteed jackpot roll. The pool ranges from a stack of Legendary Booster Boxes up to the headline chases: a permanent Everflame rank, a Season Pass, a pet, a top jewel, or last map's Tartarus Map III crate. What you actually pull is the fun part.

What it will never give you

The crate is deliberately fenced off from progression-defining gear. No armour, weapon or pickaxe trims, no offhands, and nothing rift-exclusive ever appears. The crate is an accelerator and a flex, not a shortcut around the content you're meant to earn.

The open animation

The Asphodel crate opens with its own lantern animation.

Older crates

The Map II and Map III crates were the Tartarus crates. The Tartarus Map III crate is now a jackpot prize inside the Asphodel crate. Its open is a floating vault-temple that assembles around you, cracks open, and crumbles into the abyss.

Browsing crates

Want to see what's in the crate before you buy, or look back at chests from past maps? Run /ancientcrates to browse every crate ever released, including previous seasons. For the rotating non-premium boxes, see Weekly Loot Boxes; premium currency lives in the Obol Store.
