The Forgotten Polis is where you hunt shades and wraiths. Since Map 4 every hunt there is a private run: your own copy of the Polis at an area level you choose. Nobody else can enter your run, so there is no PvP and no fighting over packs.
Unlocking and entering
- The Polis unlocks at Fund I. Wraiths start appearing in runs once Fund IV is complete.
- Open the run menu with
/polisor/warp polis(the warp menu's Polis tile does the same). - You can't enter or leave while PvP tagged, during a duel or in the Tartarus Rift.
- Entry is free and runs have no time limit.
Area levels
Pick any area level from 1 up to your mining level, capped by the server's current level cap (the highest area level is 103). Use the plus and minus buttons in the menu to move the level, or click your mining level to jump to your highest.
- Enemies, Hunter XP and loot all scale with the area level.
- Lower levels stay open, so you can drop down for an easier run or for an earlier boss's essence.
- The level is fixed for the run. Picking a different level closes your old run and opens a new one.
- The menu remembers the last level you picked by hand. A new player starts at level 1.
- The Polis Loot button shows the drops at the selected level and the levels where new drops unlock.
Which boss essence drops at which level is on Area Levels & Boss Essence.
Inside a run
- Shades spawn in packs of 5 to 10 around you as you explore, about 96 at a time across the run.
- Each pack is all melee, all archers or all mages (Frost, Flame or Storm). Archers and mages have 60% of a melee shade's health.
- Once Wraiths are unlocked, about one in four of each pack is a wraith.
- Enemy health rises with area level. Packs from level 95 up are much tankier and are meant for players who have built up their Hunter Tree.
- Dying returns you to spawn. You keep your items and XP.
Leaving and coming back
/polis leavetakes you out./polisor/polis joinputs you back into your open run.- A run closes once it has sat empty for 5 minutes. You get a warning one minute before it closes.
- The server hosts up to 16 runs at once.
Rewards
Every kill pays Hunter XP. A shade pays 5 Hunter XP times the area multiplier and a wraith 15 times it. The multiplier is 1 at area level 1, 2 at 30, 3 at 60, 4 at 80, 5.5 at 95, 7.5 at 100, 10 at 102 and 13 at 103, rising smoothly in between. Your daily bonus, a Hunter XP Booster and the tree's Insight nodes add to that.
Loot comes from one shared, level-based list for shades and wraiths: boss essence, Enchant Dust, Trim Removers, the Spectral armour trim, the Skipstone armour and wand trims from area level 80, and the Wraithheart offhand from wraiths. Shades can also drop the Shade pet.
